Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, synthesis, and scale-up of oleochemical products and intermediates, focusing on innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable solutions.
Drive R&D projects from conceptualization to pilot and commercial scale, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
Develop and optimize chemical processes to produce fatty acids, esters, surfactants, and related oleochemical derivatives.
Apply advanced analytical techniques (e.g., NMR, IR, GC-MS, FTIR) for product characterization and process monitoring.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, quality, regulatory, commercial) to ensure seamless technology transfer and scale-up.
Mentor and supervise junior scientists and technical staff, fostering a culture of scientific rigor and safety.
Stay connected to global trends and advancements in oleochemicals, sustainability, and green chemistry, integrating relevant innovations into R&D programs.
Prepare and present technical reports, publications, and patent applications; represent the company at scientific conferences and industry forums.
Qualifications & Skills
PhD. or M.Sc. in Chemistry (Organic, Oleochemicals, or related discipline); PhD preferred.
3-5 years of relevant experience in oleochemicals, surfactants, or specialty chemicals R&D, with a track record of successful project delivery.
Demonstrated expertise in organic synthesis, process chemistry, and analytical characterization methods.
Experience with process scale-up, technology transfer, and pilot plant operations is highly desirable.
Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Knowledge of regulatory and safety standards relevant to chemical manufacturing.
